Pay gap between men and woman in Cyprus and the EU

The Commissioner for Gender Equality, Iosifina Antoniou announced that the pay gap between men and women in Cyprus is 9%.
This means that women on the island earn 91 cents for every €1 earned by men.

Iosifina went on stating that the gab is even bigger when one considers the EU figures where women earn 87 cents for every €1 earned by men.

We have been promoting equality in the workplace for years but still, it seems that not much has changed.

We should ask ourselves… why this is still the case in 2022?
